1006 PolyUrea Spray

1006 PolyUrea Spray is a two-component, high wet-out, open-time aromatic MDI or TDI prepolymer combined with a multifunctional polyurea amine blend. It is a “pure polyurea” system with no urethane or other additives.

Unique Properties

  • Slow Gel & Set Time: Enhanced bond strengths due to slower set time and better “wet-out.”
  • Durability: Extremely tough structure with 100% solids and 6-8 minute set time.
  • Chemical Resistance: Offers excellent adhesive properties and chemical resistance.
  • USDA Compliant: Conforms to USDA requirements for incidental food contact.
  • Performance: Hard, non-brittle, flexible, and impact/abrasion-resistant.
  • Marine Suitability: Highly hydrolytic stable and ideal for marine environments.

Advantages

  • Extended set time (6-8 minutes) for better bonding.
  • Excellent compatibility with reinforcing fabrics and primers.
  • Suitable for various surfaces like concrete, wood, and metal.
  • Non-volatile, odor-free with 100% solids.
  • High resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and impacts.
  • Perfect for industrial surfaces, roofing systems, and secondary containment.

Use Areas

  • Marine environments
  • Secondary containment (with non-skid features)
  • Protective coatings for processing equipment

Preparation

  • Concrete surfaces: Ensure a 28-day cure and clean thoroughly. Maintain a pH of 8.0-11.0 and provide a rough profile of at least 2 mils.
  • Steel surfaces: Perform sandblasting to near-white finish with a 2-mil profile.

Application

  • Use Gusmer or Graco heated high-pressure equipment.
  • Minimum heat: 160°F. Surface temperature: 20°F to 120°F.
  • Apply at the specified thickness and within 2-3 minutes for aggregate broadcasting.

Limitations

  • Avoid wet surfaces and exposure to moisture.
  • Store at room temperature and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Best results are achieved with vapor barriers and compatible primers.

Packaging & Shelf Life

  • Available in 110-gallon kits.
  • Shelf life: 1 year (stored between 40°F and 100°F).

Safety Guidelines

  • Professional use only.
