6007 Nova Bar Epoxy
The 6007 Nova Bar Epoxy is a 100% solids, high-performance resin system formulated with:
- Advanced technology of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A resin.
- A modified multifunctional polyamidoamine adduct activator for superior performance in damp or wet areas.
- Excellent adhesion to wet concrete and sandblasted steel.

Unique Characteristics
- Outstanding adhesion to wet concrete and steel.
- Smooth, glossy, tack-free cured finish.
- Exceptional corrosion protection.
- Moisture-blocking primer rated at 15-18 psi.
- Temperature range: 35°F to 125°F (air and surface) and 5°F above the dew point.
Advantages
- 100% solids for durable performance.
- Cures to a clear, cross-linking finish.
- High stain resistance to most tires (plasticizer migration).
- Exceptional chemical and corrosion resistance.
- Excellent abrasion resistance.
- Highly adhesive with a bond strength of 520 psi.
- Mild odor, making it suitable for interior applications.
Applications
- Decorative concrete floor finishes.
- Industrial, commercial, and residential floor coatings.
- Kitchen floor sealing and finishing.
- Slabs, stairs, and pedestrian walkways.
- Base coat for secondary containment coatings.
- Protective and attractive color coatings for damp and wet conditions.
Preparation
- Concrete Curing: Ensure a minimum 28-day cure.
- Surface Cleaning: Remove contaminants, curing agents, and old coatings.
- Profile Creation: Abrade the surface to create a rough profile of at least 2-3 mils (ASTM D4259).
- Moisture Testing: Conduct a moisture vapor test before application.
Priming
- Self-Priming: Directly adheres to concrete.
- Compatible with 6000 Series Epoxy Primers, 70001 Pen Prime, and 8000 CMW.
Moisture Vapor Reduction
- Use ASTC’s CMW to reduce moisture vapor drive.
- Suitable for substrates with moisture vapor transmission rates of up to 3 lbs/1,000 sq ft/24 hrs.
- For higher vapor levels (up to 18 psi), use 6007 Nova Bar Epoxy Primer.
Application Guidelines
- Mixing:
- Mix parts A and B using a jiffy mixer and drill motor.
- Avoid entrapping air and ensure complete mixing.
- Coating:
- Apply with a notched squeegee and back-roll with a 3/8” to 1/2” nap roller.
- Recommended film thickness: 8-16 mils per coat.
- Recoat after 8-10 hours or as soon as the first coat can be walked on.
- Sand lightly if the recoat window is exceeded.

Special Considerations
- Cold Conditions: Slower curing below 50°F. Use the Fast Set version or accelerators for faster results.
- Hot Conditions: Accelerated curing above 85°F. Mix only what can be applied within 15-20 minutes.
- Chemical Resistance: Resists a wide range of chemicals, including acids, ethanol, and motor oil.

Limitations
- Avoid mixing in mass as the epoxy heats up faster.
- Do not apply to wet surfaces with standing water.
- Store kits on wood pallets at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
- For professional applicators only. Refer to the MSDS before use.
